Welcome to Scrappywood's Blog!

Hi Scrappers!
I started this blog to keep everyone updated on the progress of SCRAPPYWOOD. As most of you know, I have been in the process of opening a scrapbook store in Frisco, Texas ever since Recollections closed. This has been a much longer process then I had imagined, but it IS coming along. I wanted to open the store full with merchandise and a full calendar of classes and crops. We are all used to what Recollections had to offer.
My vision is a shop where you feel welcomed, where we know you, where you are inspired to stretch your creative muscles, where you scrapbook with your friends, family, or meet new friends. I will provide you with quality scrapbooking and paper crafting products, especially ones you cannot find in the big box stores. I am lucky to have some great gals who will teach classes and host crops too!
Anyway...SCRAPPYWOOD will still be located in Frisco. It is taking a few more months than I hoped. I can't wait to share my vision with you all. The Recollections' gals and I have missed all of our regular customers! You will see some of them when we open. I will be doing some surveys soon to get some of your opinions about products, crop room ideas, etc. before the store build-out begins. I always welcome good ideas!

'Looking forward to shopping and cropping with you. Your blog mentioned that you'd like us to post our requests and suggestions... My favorite scrapbook store (which is 250 miles from my home, sadly) has 6 foot tables for each person. I drive the 250 miles for weekend crops, a couple of times a year, and this is the main reason I love to scrap there. I know Recollections had 6 foot tables, but they had two people sharing a table, and it was often pretty cramped. I hope you'll consider offering large work spaces. Thanks!

Hi Tricia!

I have to agree with anonymous... real estate (table space)at crops is definitely important. We also like to have electricity at each table for our cricuts and such. I am so happy that you are opening too. My cropping buddies and I have been talking about it and we will definitely be there to support you!

Tammy has summed it up - a large enough work space (which means no putting 2 people one side of a six foot table) and access to electricity for the crop room. We're so excited to hear of your progress. Keep it up!

I'm looking forward to walking down the red carpet. The wait is worth it and summer time is when I have the most time to play, anyways!

Do you have a location yet? Just wondering where to drive by, wave, and dream! :0) Christy

So glad the new store is almost opened! I've been waiting to get this good news. Can't wait to get scrapping again!

Where is the new store located?

Tricia, I know real estate is expensive in Frisco TX, as it is the PRIME location these days! I know in our "ideal" world we'd all have huge tables, 50 ft of shelving and cubbyholes, Diet Coke and Krispy Kremes served by hot young males in tight leather pants (did I say that in my 'out loud' voice?) at our cropping workspace when we attend a crop at your store. But, please know that even though we would all LOVE large cropping spaces, we'll come even if that can't be a reality (like I said, due to the expense of square footage property in Frisco). If you build it...we will come! :) We are all SO excited and look forward to supporting our favorite LSS now and forever! :)

Cheryl is right... you build it and we will come!

I am really looking forward to the new store! Hey be sure to take pictures of your "progress in the store." It'd make a great scrapbook project! :)

Keep up the good work, I think it's safe to say that we are ready to shop and crop. :)

Best wishes! Angie

Yes, hurry up and open!!! We need somewhere to go! I have lots of great ideas and projects to put together, but nowhere to buy the stuff to get them done! I was so thrilled when I ran into one of the old Recollections girls today at Sprouts and she told me you were opening up a store! We will definitely come and support you! I am so hoping you have some more awesome classes like Recollections! I know if you can get Lynette and Cathi to help you with some, they would definitely be fabulous! I cannot wait for you to open!!!!!
